Henry is two weeks old now!

Henry is two weeks old now!  It seems like we were only just discharged from the hospital yesterday, but we've been home for almost a week now.  He is doing so well and charms us everyday with new expressions, noises and movements.  We're acclimating to life at home with our son and parenting on a much different sleep schedule than before he was born!  He's doing well eating sleeping and pooping like a pro with no assistance from medications or monitors.  We've had follow up appointments this week with the Cardiologist and Pediatrician as well as home health nurse and had an intake/assessment with a representative with a program called First Steps... so we are not without support and guidance.  We have no new news as far as Henry's heart.  The Cardiologist said that some children's hearts with Henry's condition continue to acclimate to the body's growing needs without corrective surgery and some children's hearts are not able to.  It is hard to hear such uncertainty, but we're focused on appreciating everyday we have with him.  So far everyday has been amazing.  We had our first bath, experienced his first sneeze, first car ride and trips out of the house, and first snow day (though not much different than the others:).  We think he's going to have dimples as they appear when he (unintentionally) smiles in his sleep.  We also think curls are taking over his locks, which we love... though are unsure how to manage:)  Many more firsts along the way and lots of laughter with every experience!

I'll apologize now for the excess- I've uploaded picture of Henry onto a flicker.com account to share... enjoy!  As always thanks for your thoughts and prayers.
