Henry is a toddler!

Happy New Year everyone! Since Thanksgiving it seems we've had about weekly celebrations with Henry and he was starting to expect this was our reality:) We had a wonderful holiday week with family and, despite the massive amounts of beautiful snow, got to see most everyone to celebrate. Henry has a lot of Santas in his life, and all of the new toys remind us of how fortunate and loved he is (even the loud ones that seem to be his favorites!). With the new year has come some slower paced days of hibernation as it is difficult to leave a cosy home to venture out in single digit (!) temperatures. But, the lack of outings has not slowed down our man in the least bit! Henry is definitely living up to the new age of "toddling" with all of the new moves he has as a one year-old. We've rearranged our home in order to free up some more space for the big guy to safely explore, and he is all over it! We continue to see more and more of his personality and his curiosity leads him into every new corner he can squeeze into. Even with a room full of toys Henry will explore cabinets (translation- empty out cabinets:), climb the stairs, find mirrors to smile at, pull plants leaves, chase cats, etc. It's fun to watch (while inconspicuously hovering close) and see things from his perspective... a.k.a. the "Henry lens".
I started telling Henry about skiing during our days off... my mind is in the mountains with all this snow... and we watched a little of the snowboarding Xgames in Telluride, CO. It made me excited for future family winter trips with the little guy- I can't imagine where his curiosity would take him on the ski slopes!! When Henry was first diagnosed with Tetrology of Fallot during our pregnancy, a good friend told us that Shaun White (The Flying Tomato) was born with ToF. Ever since then, I've had a special place in my heart for snowboarders:)

We're hoping to dust off the stroller/wagon once all this snow melts and explore outside again soon- it hasn't seen this many days inside since Henry was born! Hope you are staying warm and getting some restful snow days as well!

-K
