April 2012

Happy beginnings of spring everyone!! Things seem to have settled into a routine at our place (kind of) and I now have a hard time remembering life without Gus with us. It's a little more busy and a lot more "active", making way for some very entertaining stories:) Easter holiday entailed a special day with the Bridges family. We spent time with Henry's cousins, Aunt and Uncle, GoGo, Grandpa Doug and Papa and had a blast! Henry played with bubbles nearly all day, got to hunt for Easter eggs the Easter bunny left for him, got to hear Uncle Jim tell children's stories (UTube video to come) and almost ate his weight in jelly beans! It was a special day together and the weather allowed us to spend most of it outside.

We enjoyed cheering for the Kansas Jayhawks who came really close to being National Champions, and are now excited for baseball season (and hot dogs, peanuts and ice cream that goes along with those events!). Henry got a TBall stand from the Easter bunny and has had fun practicing hitting and throwing the baseball in the back yard. Good times!

Henry continues his schedule of PT, OT, Speech and Special Instruction along with Montessori school and seems to be progressing wonderfully. Our next task is to get him potty trained in order for him to step up to the next level classroom. We attempted this one weekend with big boy underwear, lots of incentives (space/space shuttle related presents, of course) and after 8 hrs and seven outfit changes we called cease fire. We'll try again soon with a little more structure and go at Henry's pace. Until then, we need to purchase more space shuttle/astronaut gifts and rocketship underwear:)

Hope you are all enjoying the beautiful spring and have many sunny days ahead of you.

Much love,

Kate, Julie, Henry and Gus
