July 2012

Happy Independence Day everyone! We've enjoyed time together as summer began with my family at yet another one of GG's "houses"! Henry learned all about the beach, dug lots of holes in the sand, looked for sea shells (and sea monsters- aka GG!), went on rides with Papap in the golf cart, swam out to the dock (with help of course), learned all about squirt guns from Uncle Tom and learned how to cook "smushmallows" from Uncle Bob with his cousins, Leo and Finn. We spent the 4th with the Bridges family and Henry enjoyed playing in the pool and eating Grandpa Bridges wonderful food- especially the jello! Two lucky guys with all the wonderful family that surround them!

Henry continues to be curious about the world around him and loves for his days to be full of new "adventures"! Gus is a very willing sidekick to Henry and thankfully a very good spirited guy with all these adventures:) We've visited the Zoo, played at a gymnasium (which Henry loved- see pics) swam at the pool and visited the parks to keep the boys entertained. The heat has required that we be a little more creative in our outdoor activities, but thank goodness both boys love the water to keep cool! Funny side note- the last couple nights Henry has picked out the "Snow" book by PD Eastman to read at bedtime- totally with him on that one!

We've jumped in with both feet with potty training this month with the help of Henry's preschool and he is taking big steps! It's amazing to see his confidence blossom with small accomplishments and hear him verbalize more and more what he needs and what he's doing. It starts with things as mundane as him verbalizing what he does as he's getting ready in the morning like "I'm putting my socks on Momma!" to things that are way more entertaining like "I peeing on Lightening McQueen (underwear) Momma!". There is lots of hustle going on lately at our house, and we're really glad there are not cameras to record the madness:). We should definitely be keeping a journal of famous quotes, that's for sure:). All in all we couldn't be prouder of him.

We hope your summer has started well everyone and hope that you catch time to enjoy family and friends to refresh!

Much love,

Kate, Julie, Henry and Gus
