Henry is 4 years old!

Henry turned four last week and he's proud to hold up four fingers to show you! Not surprisingly, we're always nostalgic around this time of year. Counting our blessings for our time with Henry has never been just a once a year occasion at our house. But birthdays sure are an awesome time! Henry got to celebrate with both sides of our families over the course of the week, and despite fever/ear infection LOVED it!! He has become this little man before our eyes. No matter how you try to slow things down, time continues to move too fast and we've simply tried to not take one moment for granted. Another great life lesson from our time with Henry:) We've been counting down the days until some family event since Halloween and the beginning of the holiday season has not disappointed. In the meantime, Henry has returned full time to school and has adjusted well. His teachers and classmates celebrated his birthday with a really cool "celebration of life" ceremony, which Henry loved! Yet another opportunity to blow out a candle and celebrate- one lucky guy!! He is finishing off the additional PT sessions at CMH and discovered the pool on the first floor of the hospital- amazing perk of therapy during the winter months!! He has one more session to finish out this year with his therapies in the school district and as always we feel so fortunate for this wonderful support. Lots of people to be thankful for as we reflect on how far Henry has come this year.

Words cannot describe how excited I get around this time of the year, and it's not about the presents. My parents always had this giddiness about them as we were growing up around the holidays and I hope our children know this kind of happiness. With so many challenging things going on in the world right now, knowing the comfort of family and their presence is the best gift of all. I wish you all the happiest of holidays and much love to be grateful for as the New Year nears.

Much love,

Kate, Julie, Henry and Gus
