February Fun 2013

We were busy bees this month as we got acclimated to Henry's new needs. He was cleared by Ortho during our follow up appointment to weight bear and confirmed to have good bone growth around the break. At first he was barely able to stand, but now he's cautiously taking steps. He and Gus have crawling races around the house and are both pulling up on furniture... good camaraderie around here! We're so proud of how he's handling all of this and can't wait to get him back to the park this summer!

In the meantime we've tried to capitalize on the things we can do with limited mobility. Henry is coloring and playing with Legos for half hours at a time! We went to the performance of Flat Stanley at the Kauffman Center with Henry's cousin, Leo, and the CHD group. We went for a weekend visit to St. Louis to see GG and Papap who gave us all a breath of fresh air with their energy and love! He enjoyed a movie with Momma J on a day Gus' was scheduled to go to school. We even took in a KU women's basketball game- courtside!  The boys stayed out way to late (double overtime against Iowa State!) and had a blast!

We feel fortunate Henry's recovery has been so smooth and thankful for all of the help from family and friends (you know who you are!) to keep him stimulated and "active" for the last month! We couldn't have done it without you!!

Much love,

Kate, Julie, Henry and Gus
