August 2013

We've had an awesome summer so far and are finding ways to enjoy being outside despite the hot temps!  We enjoyed 4th of July with the Bridges in Topeka and "celebrating America" with Papap Bridges' wonderful cooking and hospitality!  Henry started swim lessons at the local YMCA and is loving it!  He has yet to go under water, but we're getting pretty darn close:). School continues to go well and Henry is really enjoying his friends and teachers.  He's learning about the continents and told us about the animals that live in South America!  He especially loves "water day" on Wednesdays!

Henry had a good appointment with his Cardiologist in June. His heart function looked good enough to stop his Lasix, which he has been on since the surgery last October.  And the best part is that he doesn't have to return until December!  We follow up with ortho, pulmonary and are having a cavity fixed this month, so lots of extra excitement... but Henry is taking it all in stride like the amazing kid he is!

We're enjoying the last bits of summer and spending lots of days at the pool to soak it all in.  It literally warms my heart to see the boys enjoying exploring and playing together. We hope you are enjoying all the sunshine as well... Long live summer!!

Much love,

Kate, Julie, Henry and Gus
