We squeezed in some last minute summer vacations the beginning of this month... in part because we were in denial that summer is ending and also that the pool was closing and we had to fill the void! First we headed to Des Moines to see my grandmother and the Simpsons! The boys were awesome co-pilots on the journey and absolutely loved seeing GG and Papap, who met us there! Great Grandma Simpson won the boys over with rides on her walker... four boys were very entertained and surprised at the possibilities of a race around the hotel lobby:) We enjoyed the hotel pool and Henry got to show GG and Papap how much the swim classes were paying off- by going under water by himself (many many times)!! It was awesome!
We headed back out the next day to Hutchinson, Kansas to visit the Cosmosphere, a museum about the invention of rockets and space travel! Thanks to a great tip from some Hutchinson natives (McKays, you are awesome for recommending!), we spent almost a full day wandering through the museum bouncing from exhibit to exhibit. The boys loved it and the Mommas enjoyed all the smiles and time spent together. Could not have found a better way to end the summer! Pictures never seem to capture the moments, but these come close:)
