Henry has had another good day on the 4th floor! We got up this morning (thinking Julie was already late for work- darn time change!) around 5:30am and played through 10:30am. Henry's evening awake stretch was from 12:30pm-4:30pm! I mention this because I'm pretty sure this was as close to a "normal day" in the life of Henry since his surgery and it felt so great! Henry has been up entertaining guests, being playful both in and out of his room and eating some great meals (in addition to snacks!)! It took him a while to get settled into his naps (not a totally new phenomenon), but that's to be expected in a different environment and with much less medication assisting his sleep. Henry is smiling again though I'm pretty sure Woody just got the first official full on Henry smile this AM. Seems fitting that as Woody has helped bring him so much comfort, that he would return the favor appropriately:)
In the second round milestones department, Henry is army crawling again!! Henry wanted to contribute to the blog today and says "ileaqsazZCCCCCX XZSZASAxxxxcxdskcxkndxkvcvf mmn,". We were both playing with our "toys" on the play mat this AM (me on the computer and he with his blocks) when he army crawled across the mat to get his hands on the computer keys. Reminded me of Henry circa 9 months... many fond memories of the army crawl back then and happy to see it again! Below pic is another moment of "tummy time" playing with the iPod- already very motivated by the gadgets and mommas are not above using them as bait! He is sitting independently with more stamina and confidence today and often points and demands to be on the mat instead of just snuggling. Gone are the days of all-hour snuggles; momma has mixed feeling about this, but mostly so very happy he's getting back to himself:) This week should be a big one with OT/PT and all the routines of the weekday returning, though I feel Henry is ready to show them what he's got. Thanks again for all your love and support and for checking in with our guy.

Much love,
Kate and Julie
