Surgery Day #12

We're home!! It was a fast morning after the providers in rounds felt like Henry was ready for discharge. We were home by noon and had a very relaxing evening. Henry is adjusting to being home and not being fully recovered. He wants to play with everything, though is still fighting fatigue, nausea and pain. We have medications to help treat these symptoms, though movies, coloring, iPad and toys seem to treat them effectively as well. We have a follow up appointment with CV surgery on Tuesday to check on Henry's progress. We will arrange care with physical and occupational therapy for Henry for the next month or so to get him back to full force playing at the park. He has some limitations as precautions from surgery though in general were told he would self limit. I gave him a bath last night and it was bitter sweet. We know it was comforting to feel the warm water on his skin, though scary to see his "owies". Thank you for the ongoing love and support as we help Henry get back to himself.

Much love,

Kate, Julie, Henry and Gus
