Surgery Day #3 Update

Well, the good news is the Cardinals won this afternoon.  Bad news is Henry gave his Mommas lots of new gray hairs.  Four challenges presented this afternoon including: Henry's SATs continued to trend down despite increased oxygen support, Henry's platelets continued to trend down, his chest X-ray looked increasingly bad and his chest tube/drainage output increased.  He was reintubated as these were signs his body needed help.  Shortly after, these measures continued to trend down despite intubation and there were several very scary hours where Henry was very sick.  Henry's lungs continue to struggle, similar to last post-op hospitalization and his team now feels he needs a little more R&R to recover and heal.  He is now very sedated, resting comfortably and will need this for a while.  We know how strong and brave he is and that this feisty spirit will get him through this bump in the road.  We are hoping for some excitement free days and appreciate all the thoughts and prayers sent his way.

Much love,

Kate, Julie, Henry and Gus
