Surgery Update Day #6

Henry actually followed the plan today- kind of.  His blood pressure was a little low on several occasions despite fluid bolus and the medical team is trying to determine whether or not this is from sedation or infection. Time will tell, but overall Henry continues to rest comfortable. They were able to wean his vent a little and will continue this slowly depending on how he does. The breathing treatments are really helping to clear his lungs and he is tolerating them beautifully. All in all a good day!

Papap will spend the night with Henry tonight and likely talk KU basketball and his predictions of the upcoming season:). Gus had a wonderful day with GG and Papap and apparently took lots (5?!) walks per his request!  Someone is getting all kinds of love and attention these days!  Picture of Gus and Momma J in the playground in front of Children's Mercy this afternoon below- it was a gorgeous day outside!

I smiled when Gus crooned his neck to see something as we reentered the hospital.  There are some places in the hospital that just bring you comfort no matter what is going on.  Julie and I both love the area where several figures dangle and turn in the lobby... it's just peaceful and has calmed us on many occasions (see pictures below). We later realized Henry loved them as well and we visit them when he has appointments.  These figures were what Gus turning to see... apparently they bring comfort to all ages:)

More of the same plan for Henry tomorrow. Thanks for keeping him in your thoughts and prayers!

Much love,

Kate, Julie, Henry and Gus
